The Trust is presently engaged in the following activities:
1. Swami Hariharananda Public School
The Trust is running the ‘Swami Rama Institute of Vocational Education & Research’ and the ‘Swami Hariharananda Public School’ at Malethi following the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) pattern upto the 10th grade. Presently, it is serving over 160 poor village children coming from around 30 villages. A Scholarship Fund provides the poorest of these children with uniform, shoes, schoolbooks, schoolbags, transportation & tuition fee etc.
2. Vocational school
The Vocational Wing of the ‘Swami Rama Institute of Vocational Education & Research’ provides Vocational Training Courses in , Tailoring, Sewing & Plumbing, Computer Operation & Programming and Electrician Training . The curriculum is prescribed by the National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) and each class has a maximum capacity of 20 students. Students graduating from the vocational program receive a nationally recognized National Council of Vocational Training (NCVT) Certification after successful completion and the final cumulative examination of the course.
3. Swami Rama Institute of Education
The ‘Swami Rama Institute of Education’ offers the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Program. The institute is affiliated to the HNB Garhwal University (Central University) with an annual intake capacity of 100 students.
Income Generation
4. Herbal Garden
The Trust has planted Herbal Gardens making tiers in the mountain slope where Roses are being cultivated primarily for Rose Water (Gulab Jal) and Rose Oil essence. Stevia, Rosemary and many other herbs have also been planted in the garden. Some of the tiers are reserved for growing fruits and vegetables for the residents, teachers and visitors of the Trust. In future, these will provide a source of income generation for the campus and at the same time encourage the villagers to grow these crops for income generation purposes.
